- About 2 years ago, I purchased one of the subject modems. After some
- startup problems, it has provided (reasonably) acceptable service.
- However, I just upgraded my motherboard and got some diagnostic
- software to check out the system. When I ran the software, it
- indicated that the modem was a UART8250 port. This despite the
- manufacturer's assertion that it was a UART 16650!
